Michelle Stein
Michelle is a fundraising consultant and trainer specialising in high value fundraising from major donors, corporates and trusts & foundations. Her experience spans international development, faith and arts & culture iorgnisations n the UK and South Africa including The British Museum, Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa and WaterAid. She has worked with some of the globe's most philanthropic families and knows what is required to build and develop significant partnerships with donors whether one is operating from a well-known non-profit or a small, unknown organisation. Michelle loves problem-solving and identifying ways for organisations to maximise their fundraising success by understanding fundraising challenges and designing solutions or creating new fundraising strategies. She enjoys putting structures in place so teams can fundraise efficiently and has a passion for training individuals, teams and boards on topics ranging from the basics of major donor fundraising to holding effective donor meetings. Although Pinterest is no longer considered trendy, Michelle believes it still has some of the best donor stewardship ideas: she's sent donors event invites on cloth handkerchiefs and produced a donor report that was delivered in a plastic bottle. Identifying creative ways to show donors how much they are valued is one of her favourite things together with upskilling junior members of staff.
