The principal continuing activities of the University consisted of: the provision of facilities for education and research; the provision of courses of study across a range of disciplines; the conferring of degrees at Bachelor, Master and Doctoral levels as well as the awarding of other diplomas and certificates; the encouragement, dissemination and advancement of knowledge through free enquiry; participation in public discourse; administration in support of teaching, learning and research activities; community engagement in cultural, sporting, professional, technical and vocational services.
