Scottish Ballet

Description

As Scotland’s national dance company, Scottish Ballet’s mission is to inspire on stage and beyond.

Based in Glasgow, the company performs regularly all over Scotland – from our biggest cities to our most remote communities, and increasingly throughout the UK and internationally – promoting Scotland’s pioneering spirit far and wide. Prime examples of our repertoire include Mary, Queen of Scots (2025), Coppélia (2022), and The Crucible (2019). All three of these ballets were commissioned as part of our Five in Five Campaign which aimed to create five new full-length ballets in five years.

We strive for excellence by creating world-class performances at the peak of classical and contemporary ballet, offering transformative artistic experiences that inspire and captivate. Inclusion is at the heart of our mission, breaking down barriers and welcoming everyone to experience Scottish Ballet. Our commitment to innovation fuels our creativity, driving pioneering engagement programmes, new work, and embracing digital platforms to connect with audiences worldwide, sharing the power of dance far and wide.

We are a National Centre for Dance Health and have been creating wellbeing experiences since 2013 – bringing joy across generations in Scotland, the UK and internationally. The SB Health team engages with communities in Scotland and beyond through our classes, health resources, online programmes and research studies. Our engagement programme promotes confidence, fosters well-being and encourages creativity in all by delivering inspirational programmes tailored to the needs of each group. Our programmes are open to all ages and abilities – from those who want to have fun, to those who dream of being a principal dancer.
