Royal Trinity Hospice

Royal Trinity Hospice

Royal Trinity Hospice is the oldest hospice in the UK and has been caring for people living with life-limiting illnesses since 1891. Located in Clapham, but providing care in patients’ homes, care homes, prisons, homeless shelters, hostels and sheltered accommodation throughout central and south west London, the hospice is the only dedicated end of life care provider to 750,000 people living in our catchment area of Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea, Lambeth, Merton, Richmond, Wandsworth and Westminster.

Our team includes nurses, bereavement counsellors, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and complementary therapists who work as a team to keep patients comfortable, active, independent and emotionally and spiritually well for as long as possible. Last year we supported over 2,600 people.
We remain committed to providing free end of life care and helping our patients and their families live every moment. With an ageing population that is living longer with related illnesses and specialist conditions, demand for Trinity’s services continues to grow. We are working to ensure Trinity can meet our community’s future needs.
Each year it costs around £15 million to provide our services, all of which are offered completely free of charge. However, only 26% of our costs are met by the NHS and we must therefore fundraise on an ongoing basis from a broad range of sources to meet the cost of delivering our many existing and new services in the context of growing demand for them.
