Bernard is an experienced development professional with over 17 years of service in the higher education and non-profit sectors in Hong Kong and Singapore. Bernard is passionate about building a better society for posterity through mobilizing support from the community. Working closely with stakeholders in Hong Kong and APAC, he has secured philanthropic fundings for programmes that advance research, elevate the quality of teaching and learning, and create opportunities for deserving, talented youths. Bernard holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the Johns Hopkins University and is a Master’s in Social Sciences (Nonprofit Management) candidate at The University of Hong Kong. He is a CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) and has appeared as speaker at industry conferences. In his spare time, Bernard trains for competitive tennis and idolizes Roger Federer. A baritone and pianist, Bernard is actively involved in the community arts scene and has directed and sung with local groups including Hong Kong Voices, Tallis Vocalis and the choir of the St. John’s Cathedral, has appeared as soloist with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, and supports his church’s worship band. Bernard is an animal lover and has a soft spot for Corgis.
