The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain (NYBBGB) is the UK’s leading brass band charity for children and young people. We exist to give the brightest young brass musicians and percussionists the opportunity to play together and inspire others.

We currently run two brass bands – the National Children’s Brass Band and the National Youth Brass Band. Entry is by audition. Our bands, comprising 130 children and young people, meet for three, week-long, residential courses a year to perform advanced music and receive the highest quality artistic direction and teaching. This develops our young members as musicians to grow the next generation of outstanding musicians. Half of our alumni progress to study classical music training at conservatoire, and they are represented in professional orchestras, and also as composers, conductors and music professionals throughout the UK and around the world. The NYBBGB is a top commissioner of new music for brass band, and pieces that we commissioned and premiered are now played across the world.
