Royal New Zealand Ballet

Royal New Zealand Ballet

The Royal New Zealand Ballet (RNZB) is a company of dynamic dancers, performing an eclectic repertoire of outstanding dance for national and international audiences, whilst continuing to build a style that is ultimately unique to this company and Aotearoa, New Zealand.

The RNZB traditionally tours NZ three times a year, performing in eight main centres with large productions featuring classical and contemporary ballet. It also tours once annually to the regions, visiting 16 smaller towns in 2021 with a free daytime show for schools and a public performance in the evening. It also runs a comprehensive Education, Community and Accessibility programme which is about offerings for schools and students, young aspiring dancers, women and men in prison, visually, hearing and physically impaired, and the wider community including those disengaged from participating in society, be it either socially, financially, physically, geographically or ethnically. Many of these offerings and activities are free or subsidised by funders.
