FWAB was founded in 1996 by photographer Kenro Izu after he witnessed the unnecessary death of a 7-year-old in Siem Riep, Cambodia whose father could not afford the $2 needed to save her life. Kenro, believing that every child has the right to a healthy and happy life, took action and opened FWAB.
